31984 (2026). Mike Davidson to the Minister for the South Island: Did you receive a letter from Christchurch City Council and/or the Mayor of Christchurch in February 2026 requesting government support in a number of areas, including funding and regulatory support for Mass Rapid Transit, and if so, what actions have you taken in regard to this letter?

Hon James Meager: On 2 March 2026, I received an email from Mayor Phil Mauger, Christchurch City Council, with an attached letter titled "2026 02 20 Minister for the South Island - Mayoral Joint Priorities", outlining priority projects and policy areas, including Mass Rapid Transit, and the support being sought. Subsequently, I directed my office to review the information and gather relevant context and input from the appropriate portfolios, to inform my advocacy role.
