31927 (2025). Tamatha Paul to the Minister of Housing: Why is Wellington not one of the Government's priority locations for social housing delivery by strategic partners?

Hon Chris Bishop: I am advised that the priority locations for social housing delivery by strategic partners were chosen based on housing data that considered social housing need, existing delivery plans, the degree to which the housing market was producing desired outcomes, and emergency housing use. I understand that this process identified Auckland, Hamilton and surrounds, Tauranga, Porirua and Nelson-Tasman as priority locations, with Rotorua and Hawkes Bay also identified as priority locations for delivery through community partnership approaches.
