31907 (2026). Hon Ginny Andersen to the Minister of Transport: What steps, if any, have officials taken to structure or unbundle contract packages on the RiverLink project in Lower Hutt so that small and medium-sized local businesses are able to tender for them?

Hon Chris Bishop: A procurement strategy has been developed by the RiverLink Melling Transport Improvements Alliance to ensure local businesses are given an opportunity to tender. The strategy allows for larger work packages to be unbundled into smaller, distinct scopes to create accessible procurement opportunities, specifically for Māori, Pasifika and local businesses.
