31905 (2026). Hon Ginny Andersen to the Minister of Transport: How many Māori-owned businesses and how many Pasifika-owned businesses, if any, have been engaged as contractors, subcontractors or suppliers on the RiverLink project in Lower Hutt, and what is the total value of contracts awarded to them, broken down by financial year, since 27 November 2023?

Hon Chris Bishop: As of 14 July 2026, The RiverLink Melling Transport Improvements Alliance has executed contracts to the value of $14.8 million with 16 Māori and Pasifika businesses. 15 of the 16 are local Māori businesses (value $11.7 million) and 1 national Pasifika business (value $3.1 million). The 15 Māori businesses are registered within the Greater Wellington region. The total value of contracts awarded was $5.6 million in 2025, and $9.2 million in 2026.
