31826 (2025). Tamatha Paul to the Minister of Housing: How many, if any, of the 1,500 community housing places, as announced in Budget 2024, are yet to be contracted?

Hon Chris Bishop: I am advised that the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development expects that the allocation process for social housing places will be complete in the third quarter of 2025, with contractual confirmation to follow once individual projects’ funding approval conditions are met. Of the 1,500 social housing places funded from Budget 24, 1,443 have been delivered, approved, committed to Maintaining Momentum, Strategic Partners and Hawke’s Bay and Rotorua regional partnerships or are allocated but are yet to have their locations confirmed.
