31456 (2025). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: Has the development of land and homes in Kāinga Ora’s Māngere Otaki o te Wai neighbourhood been put on hold, and if so, how much funding, if any, had been allocated to the project prior to it being paused, and when was the delivery of any homes originally forecast to begin?
Hon Chris Bishop: As part of Budget 2025, $53m in capital funding from the Housing Acceleration Fund (HAF) allocated for the Mangere Otaki o te Wai neighbourhood was reprioritised. Approximately $3.2m of HAF funding had been spent to date in Otaki o te Wai and land was forecast to be delivered from late 2028. This funding was spent on design, planning and some early site preparation works.
