31224 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Transport: How much, if any, have the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, budgeted for the carbon neutral government programme in the 2026/27 financial year?
Hon Chris Bishop: As Minister of Transport, I am responsible for NZTA, which advises that there will not be a dedicated budget for the Carbon Neutral Government Programme (CNGP) in financial year 2026/27. However, approximately $300,000 from a mix of funding sources including the National Land Transport Fund and baseline funding has been allocated for CNGP-related activities across the year. In my capacity as Minister of Transport, I am not responsible for any other departments, agencies, Crown entities, or other bodies. The Member may be aware that I was previously responsible for the Ministry of Transport. That responsibility ended when the Ministry of Transport merged into the new Ministry for Cities, Environment, Regions and Transport (MCERT). Responsibility for MCERT now sits with the Minister Responsible for RMA Reform.
