31215 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: How many FTE fixed-term Senior Medical Officers (SMOs) are currently being sourced in Tairāwhiti district?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that 1.8 FTE fixed term Senior Medical Officers were currently being sourced in the Gisborne district as at 17 June 2025. Our Government remains focused on strengthening the frontline and supporting our regional hospitals to attract and retain the staff they need.
