31205 (2025). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Lead Coordination Minister for the Government's Response to the Royal Commission’s Report into Historical Abuse in State Care and in the Care of Faith-based Institutions: Further to 27075 (2025), what evidence was gathered and used, if any, to reach the decision that an average 50 percent top-up would rectify the assessment that the current redress payments were too low?
Hon Erica Stanford: The average 50% top up was based on the difference between the previous average payments made for abuse in care and the increased average payment of $30,000. This supports equity between previous and future settlements.
