31040 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Conservation: How much in total, if any, is forecast to be spent on renumeration of Crown appointees in the Minister's departments, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, for the 2026-27 financial year?

Hon Tama Potaka: I am advised that the Department does not record information regarding fees paid to all Boards in a manner where the requested information can be provided without significant manual collation. In response to previous enquiries, the Department allocated significant staff time to compile the requested figure for the 2024/25 financial year. This figure ($496,078) was provided in response to written question 53956 (2025). The Department advises me that the total figures will be similar for the 2022/23, 2023/24, and 2025/26 financial years, and it does not consider it to be viable to undertake the same collation process again given the time available for responding to written questions. With regard to the 2026/27 forecast, based on the data for 2024/25 and recent fee reviews, the Department’s forecast estimate for remuneration of Crown appointees in entities within the Conservation portfolio is estimated to be $650,000.
