31010 (2023). Hon Dr Megan Woods to the Minister of Climate Change: Is restarting offshore oil and gas exploration in New Zealand consistent with his COP 28 "dream scenario" to "get global consensus around a pathway to be phasing out of fossil fuel use," if so, how?

Hon Simon Watts: I stand by the governments position that gas is an important transition fuel for maintaining New Zealand’s energy security while we electrify our economy and that dependence on imports erodes our security and increases our emissions.
