Hon Jo Luxton to the Minister of Agriculture: What correspondence, if any, has the Minister, or the Ministry for Primary Industries sent to or received from the Hawke's Bay grower group regarding options for the continued processing of vegetables following the proposed closure of the McCain Foods vegetable processing site in Hastings?

Hon Todd McClay: The Government has engaged with local councils on their efforts to assist growers. The Ministry for Primary Industries has committed $50,000 towards the first stage of a feasibility study to assess the requirements for a grower-led purchase of the site to be commercially viable.
