Hon Shane Jones: My reference to "acting to avoid that" referred to the preceding sentence in my Reply 30012 (2023) which stated "Dependence on imports erodes our security, and increases our emissions". Relying on importing fossil fuels and banning fossil fuel exploration is not the way to secure New Zealand’s energy supply, which is a top priority for this Government.
