Hon Tama Potaka: For the 150 of the 189 homes, set aside for social housing, applicants are matched to properties based on their level of need and the availability of a property that fits their selected letting areas and the typology of house required. Public housing landlords (such as Kāinga Ora or Community Housing Providers) are responsible for matching the specific client, (from a short list provided by the Ministry of Social Development), to the property and sign a tenancy agreement with the applicant directly.
