30888 (2025). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Associate Minister of Housing: What metrics are used in the monthly and six-monthly insights he receives to assess the prevalence or severity of housing deprivation?
Hon Tama Potaka: The six-monthly Homelessness Insights report is a collation of a number of different measures and observations.
Census Severe Housing Deprivation estimates are measured as counts and prevalence per 10,000 usual resident population. Other measures in December Homelessness Insights report included: Numbers of people rough sleeping; Numbers and percentages of households entering, in-service and exiting services such as emergency housing, transitional housing, Housing First and Rapid Re-housing, as well as the social housing register.
