30884 (2025). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Associate Minister of Housing: Has he been advised at any point in the last 12 months that homelessness, including rough sleeping or overcrowded living, is worsening in any region; if so, in what regions is that occurring?

Hon Tama Potaka: I have received the December 2024 Homelessness Insights report from my officials which noted that insights from providers indicate that rough sleeping counts from Auckland, Hamilton and Wellington all showed increases from 2023 to 2024. The Government is committed to responding to homelessness through various levers.
