30881 (2025). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: What penalties, if any, will apply to community housing providers that fail to meet delivery timelines for the Rotorua housing developments announced on 15 June 2025, and has he been advised of these mechanisms?

Hon Chris Bishop: I have been advised by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development that there has been no specific provision made for penalties for any late delivery of social housing in Rotorua. I am further advised that HUD will use its standard contracting processes which include options for cancellation of funding along with other remedies for non-performance.
