30865 (2025). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Minister of Immigration: Has the Minister received any indicative numbers and/or projections of the amount of individuals/couples that will apply for the Parent Boost Visa; if so, what are those projections and/or indicative numbers?

Hon Erica Stanford: Broad estimates were given by officials expecting between 2,000 to 10,000 applications per year. They have modelled the visa category of 6,000 on average, with a surge of applications expected upfront, however long-term demand cannot be accurately forecasted due to a range of untested factors.
