30863 (2025). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Minister of Immigration: How many, if any, parents have passed away while waiting for a Parent Visa since 2023; broken down by year?

Hon Erica Stanford: The member's question lacks due specificity as (1) there are a number of visas that parents can apply for and (2) it is not clear what the member means by "waiting". If a parent was to pass away between applying for a visa and their application being approved or declined INZ would not have that information unless they were proactively informed by a family member or other authorised person.
