30773 (2025). Shanan Halbert to the Minister for Vocational Education: What work, if any, on transitioning polytechnics to a federated model has been started, when was this started and who is responsible or involved in this work?

Hon Penny Simmonds: Cabinet has not yet taken decisions on implementing the new vocational education and training model. The Education and Training (Vocational Education and Training System) Amendment Bill sets out transitional provisions that provide for the establishment of a Federation Committee but no decisions have yet been made on which polytechnics will transition to a federated model.
