30767 (2025). Shanan Halbert to the Minister for Vocational Education: How much is the disestablishment of Te Pūkenga forecast to cost?

Hon Penny Simmonds: The cost of disestablishing Te Pūkenga and workforce development councils, and the establishment of new polytechnics and ISBs, is expected to be met by agency baselines, changes to the funding system, and a contingency established as part of Budget 2024 decisions. The estimated cost for the transition is still being refined and is subject to future Cabinet decisions.
