30735 (2025). Shanan Halbert to the Minister for Vocational Education: Further to the Minister’s response to Written Parliamentary Question 22723, what was the rationale for not carrying out a consultation of this nature?

Hon Penny Simmonds: Disestablishing Workforce Development Councils was a National Party commitment at the 2023 General Election. Consultation on options for replacing them occurred over August and September 2024. The results of this, and consultation on work-based learning in January and February 2025, have informed decisions leading to the Industry Skills Board model set out in the Education and Training (Vocational Education and Training System) Amendment Bill currently before the House.
