30711 (2025). Shanan Halbert to the Minister for Vocational Education: Further to the Minister’s answer to Oral Question Number 11 on the 5th June 2025, what advice has the Minister received about financial improvement measures being undertaken by Te Pūkenga’s business divisions by date and title?

Hon Penny Simmonds: Corrected reply: I have received the following advice from the Tertiary Education Commission about the financial improvement work Te Pūkenga is undertaking across its ITP business divisions. • 10 July 2024 – Update on ITP financial sustainability • 9 September 2024 - Update on the regional ITP viability programme • 17 October 2024 – Update on the regional ITP viability programme • 8 November 2024 - Update on the regional ITP viability programme – revised phase 2a reports • 5 March 2025 - Update on the regional ITP viability programme • 10 April 2025 – Creation of a merged Unitec and MIT entity • 16 April 2025 – Guidance on the five financially unviable ITPs • 8 May 2025 - Initial view on the establishment of standalone ITPs • 15 May 2025 – Advice on the future financial viability of the ITP network For completeness I have also received regular reports from Te Pūkenga about the progress of this work.
