30706 (2025). Shanan Halbert to the Minister for Vocational Education: Further to the Minister’s answer to Oral Question Number 11 on the 5th June 2025, what is the cost of the financial advisors working with Te Pūkenga’s business divisions?

Hon Penny Simmonds: The Tertiary Education Commission required Te Pūkenga to obtain specialist help under section 332 of the Education and Training Act 2020. It specified four consultancies Te Pūkenga was required to engage to provide financial advice and recommendations to improve the financial position and future viability, where possible, of ITP business divisions. I’m advised that in 2024, Te Pūkenga paid these four consultancies $3,626,420. In 2025, Te Pūkenga has paid $250,555 for some work that has continued.
