30696 (2026). Hon Ginny Andersen to the Associate Minister of Education: How many, if any, meals were thrown out by schools during the week of June 29th 2026?

Hon David Seymour: I am advised by the Ministry of Education that schools in the school lunches programme are required to return surplus meals to their supplier. Food waste is composted and packaging recycled where possible. In relation to the number of returned meals, I refer the Member to my response to written parliamentary question 30695 (2026).
