Hon Jan Tinetti to the Minister of Education: Does the Minister still intend to progress a refocus of the curriculum to remove and replace gender, sexuality and relationship-based education guidelines as outlined in the coalition agreement between National and New Zealand First, and if so, why, when Statistics New Zealand reported in 2022, of Aotearoa New Zealand’s population aged 18 years and over, 4.4 percent (169,500 people) identified as being part of the LGBT+ population for the year ended June 2021, and what reports has the Minister or her office received on the projected number of individuals who will experience harassment due to their sexuality or gender with the removal of gender, sexuality and relationship-based education guidelines?
