30635 (2025). Takutai Tarsh Kemp to the Minister for Children: What evaluation mechanisms, if any, are in place to monitor the effectiveness of Oranga Tamariki’s Transition Support Services in preventing homelessness for youth exiting their care?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised by Oranga Tamariki that a comprehensive evaluation of the Transition Support Service was published in 2024. The evaluation can be found at www.orangatamariki.govt.nz/about-us/research/our-research/transition-support-service-four-year-evaluation/. I am further advised that contracted providers of Transition Support Services report on the number of young people they are working with that are in safe and stable accommodation as part of their quarterly reports.
