30625 (2025). Hon Jenny Salesa to the Minister of Customs: Has the Minister received briefings or advice, if any, on the infiltration of Pacific ports and airports by transnational cartels, and its implications for NZ border security, if any?

Hon Casey Costello: I can advise that the New Zealand Customs Service (Customs) regularly briefs me on the infiltration of international drug cartels or local gangs into New Zealand and the Pacific through a number of reporting and communication channels, including the Weekly Report to the Minister of Customs and during my regular meetings with senior Customs officials.
