30622 (2025). Hon Jenny Salesa to the Minister of Customs: Has the Minister raised concerns, if any, with her Cabinet colleagues and/or with the Minister of Finance about the risks posed, if any, by under‑resourcing anti‑corruption capabilities at our borders; if not, why?

Hon Casey Costello: The Member will be aware that a Ministerial Advisory Group on Transnational, Serious, and Organised Crime (TSOC) has been appointed to provide independent, expert advice to strengthen New Zealand’s response to TSOC. The Ministerial Advisory Group has provided me with three reports to date. My Ministerial colleagues and I are considering the Group’s recommendations and will progress options for improving New Zealand’s response to TSOC through the usual Cabinet processes.
