30566 (2023). Hon Ginny Andersen to the Minister of Police: What directions, if any, did the Minister give to Police during the week of Monday 11 December 2023, and what impact does this have on Police operations when responding to gang gatherings in public places?

Hon Mark Mitchell: As the Member will be well aware, it is not the role of the Minister of Police to give operational directions to the New Zealand Police. However, the Minister can set expectations - as I have done and as has been released publicly.
