30519 (2023). Hon Dr Megan Woods to the Minister for Resources: Will the Government develop a nationwide Waste-to-Energy strategy, and if not, why not?

Hon Shane Jones: I am currently focused on delivering key priorities in the Government’s 100 Day Plan. The Government intends to deliver all commitments in the coalition agreements, and I do not have any current plans to develop a waste to energy strategy. The Government has received advice from the Climate Change Commission relating to thermal waste-to-energy and will consider this advice in development of the second emissions reduction plan.
