30378 (2023). Hon Dr Megan Woods to the Minister for Resources: What fossil fuel subsidies does New Zealand have, if any, and how will the Government phase these out "as soon as possible" in line with the agreement of the United Nations Climate Conference, if at all?
Hon Shane Jones: There is no agreed international definition of what constitutes a fossil fuel subsidy. However, New Zealand’s fossil fuel support measures are reported on in the annual OECD ‘Inventory of support measures for fossil fuels’. Information on historical and current support measures can be found on the OECD website: https://www.oecd.org/fossil-fuels/
