30371 (2025). Camilla Belich to the Minister for the Public Service: What is the number of staff assigned to work out of the Head Office for each of the Minister’s responsible agencies, if any?
Hon Judith Collins: I am advised that 12 months ago the Public Service Commission were located at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand where they leased floor space, not individual workstations. The Commission’s staff are now all located in Te Iho. The Commission has signed a co-location agreement with MBIE which provides 99 workspaces for 165 employees. This works out to 6 workspaces for every 10 employees. The Crown Response Office’s staff are also all located in Te Iho. The Crown Response Office has signed a co-location agreement with MBIE which provides 26 workspaces for 44 employees. This works out to 6 workspaces for every 10 employees. Note that due to the layout of Te Iho, there are additional overflow workstations available to be shared by all agencies. This means there is an available workspace for each staff member even if their normal ‘neighbourhood’ is at capacity. This is also my response to WPQ 30373, 30374 and 30376 (2025).
