30370 (2026). Scott Willis to the Minister for Energy: Does the Minister plan on penalising the gentailers if they fail to provide comprehensive dry year cover and, if so, how much will they be penalised?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am consulting on proposals to require electricity industry participants to hold adequate dry-year cover (reliability obligations), with penalties for non-compliance, and to increase maximum penalties for certain regulatory breaches to the higher of $10 million, three times the commercial gain, or 10% of turnover.
