30349 (2026). Tangi Utikere to the Minister for Rail: Has "Final Approval to Deliver" for the Cook Strait ferry replacement programme been granted, and if not, when is it expected and can construction of the vessels proceed before it is granted?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: The Approval to Deliver process is currently underway and we will make announcements shortly. Please note the vessels are already under contract and construction is scheduled to start in 2027, after design works are completed which are currently in process.
