30348 (2026). Tangi Utikere to the Minister for Rail: Have construction contracts been signed for the port-side infrastructure at Picton and Wellington required to berth the two new Cook Strait ferries, and if not, when are they expected to be signed?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: Yes, for early contractor involvement and various demolition and design tasks. Main works contracts will be entered later this year, as planned.
