30322 (2023). Hon Dr Megan Woods to the Minister for Energy: Will the Government investigate large-scale storage to support the increase in intermittent electricity generation in New Zealand?

Hon Simeon Brown: I have axed the Lake Onslow pumped hydro scheme to reduce uncertainty in the market that has been holding back generation investment. I have received some initial advice on the dry year risk to New Zealand’s electricity system and I intend to progress work on this matter.
