Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Associate Minister of Housing: Further to reply 28730 (2026), why, some ten months after funding was announced, have only 20 of Hamilton's 31 allocated social housing places resulted in commenced tenancies, and what has prevented the remaining 11 being filled?

Hon Tama Potaka: I am advised that as of 6 July 2026, 30 of the 31 places in Hamilton have been leased and are expected to be tenanted shortly. Securing appropriate properties in Hamilton has been challenging as it is important households are placed in accommodation that meets their needs in terms of location and typology.
