30263 (2023). Hon Dr Megan Woods to the Minister for Resources: Have carbon emissions from the energy and resources sector increased or decreased in the last six years?

Hon Shane Jones: Latest data from New Zealand's Greenhouse Gas Inventory published in 2023 cover the years 1990 - 2021. In the six years between 2016 and 2021 CO2 emissions increased by 1.96% (29838.77kt in 2016 vs 30423.49kt in 2021).
