30243 (2023). Hon Dr Megan Woods to the Minister for Resources: What is the volume of gas required as part of New Zealand's energy transition as referred to by the Prime Minister on Monday 4 December?

Hon Shane Jones: Natural gas has a role in ensuring New Zealand has stable and secure energy supply. Relying on importing fossil fuels and banning fossil fuel exploration is not the way to secure New Zealand’s energy supply, which is a top priority for this Government. I will work closely with officials to consider all evidence and develop clear policy direction for New Zealand’s energy transition.
