30177 (2023). Hon Dr Megan Woods to the Minister for Energy: What advice, if any, did the Minister receive on New Zealand supporting the Global Renewables and Energy Efficiency Pledge at COP28, by date, title and a summary of its contents?

Hon Simeon Brown: I received advice titled Global Renewables and Energy Efficiency Pledge on 3 December 2023. The advice recommended New Zealand join the pledge as it was consistent with the Government's commitment to meet our net zero targets through doubling renewable energy. I agreed with this advice and instructed officials to take the necessary steps.
