30165 (2025). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Defence: What is the number of staff assigned to work out of the Head Office for each of the Minister’s responsible agencies, if any?
Hon Judith Collins: The Ministry of Defence had 189 employees at 31 March 2025, who operate from the Ministry’s office in Wellington. The allocation of staff to workstations reflects functions where staff work offsite from time to time. As at 31 May 2025, there were 1,189 Regular Force personnel and civilian staff working at Headquarters NZDF (which includes workstations in the Reserve Bank Building). The difference in the workstations and staff is due to NZDF operating multiple networks at different classification levels requiring to be on separate workstations. There are a number of workstations set aside for operational purposes and uniformed personnel, and accessed by people who do not work at HQNZDF. A large proportion of the workstations that have been added are in preparation for DCP projects.
