30155 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Minister responsible for the GCSB and NZSIS: Were the GCSB and NZSIS subject to the Government's baseline savings expectations; if so, what amount was returned or reprioritised in each of Budget 2024, 2025 and 2026?

Hon Chris Penk: The GCSB and NZSIS were subject to the Government’s baseline savings expectations in Budget 2024. I am advised that for the GCSB baseline savings in Budget 2024 were $30.480m over 4 years – $7.620m per year ongoing. I am advised that for the NZSIS the baseline savings in Budget 2024 were $13.760m over 4 years – $3.440m per year ongoing. The GCSB and NZSIS were not subject to the Government’s baseline savings expectations in Budget 2025 and Budget 2026.
