Hon Jenny Salesa to the Minister of Customs: Has the Minister received any briefings on whether the disestablishment of 12 roles from border operations, 7 roles from operations, intelligence, investigations and enforcements and 5 roles in the Maritime Group has had any effect on the agency’s ability to detect and interdict illicit drugs?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that the Customs 2024 Operational Change Process did not impact Customs’ ability to detect and interdict illicit drugs at the border.
