30140 (2026). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Associate Minister of Housing: Further to reply 28730 (2026), in Wellington, why do 35 signed leased properties correspond to only 30 commenced tenancies, and how long have those five leased-but-untenanted properties stood vacant?

Hon Tama Potaka: I am advised that leases are of necessity signed before tenancies can commence, and that there is a lag between leases being signed and tenancies being signed and households moving into their new homes. I am further advised that one of the five places has been tenanted and four will be tenanted imminently. The leases for those properties were signed progressively over early to mid-June.
