30133 (2026). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Associate Minister of Housing: Further to reply 28874 (2026), what target exit-to-long-term-housing rate, if any, has been set for Immediate Access Transitional Housing, and does the Minister consider the current 19% rate to be on track to meet it?

Hon Tama Potaka: I am advised that specific exit-to-long-term-housing targets have not been set for Immediate Access Transitional Housing. As I noted in my response to WPQ 28874, I am advised that immediate access transitional housing, in particular, has been effective in supporting rough sleepers and high-needs clients who have often found it difficult to engage with Government agencies and supports. Immediate access transitional housing also plays an important role in facilitating housing placements via referrals made by police and health workers. Of the 325 households that have exited Immediate Access Transitional Housing since the initiative commenced, 61 households (19%) exited to long-term housing, 7 households (2%) reconnected and living with family. The remaining 257 households (79%) exited to other destinations. Of the 257 households that exited to a destination other than long-term housing or living with family, 97 households (38%) voluntarily left the service, 44 households (17%) were transferred to a different provider or service, 14 households (5%) were removed from the service, 7 households (3%) were a health-related exit, and 95 households (37%) left for a different unspecified reason.
