30131 (2023). Hon Willie Jackson to the Minister for Māori Development: Does the Minister agree with the comment of Shane Jones when he was talking about the use of Te Reo Māori in the public sector, “we're cleaning out Wellington. And a part of the cleaning is to ensure that government departments use the language in a way that doesn't impede the ability of government to engage or communicate,” and if not, why not?
Hon Tama Potaka: I am not responsible for the comments of my colleagues, Ministerial or otherwise. The Government and I welcomes anyone wanting to learn, write, speak, and perform in te reo Māori.
