Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: Does the Minister agree with Christopher Luxon’s statement “we think there will be an emergence of a big black market that'll be largely untaxed,” and if so, what reports or advice, if any, has he or his office received on the health impacts of cigarettes on New Zealand’s health system?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: Yes. The Ministry of Health has provided advice relating to the repeal of the Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products Act 1990.
