30039 (2023). Hon Dr Megan Woods to the Minister for Resources: How many prospecting permits have been received by New Zealand Petroleum and Minerals?

Hon Shane Jones: From 27 November 2023, the date I became Minister for Resources, to 12 December 2023, a total of ten applications were submitted to New Zealand Petroleum & Minerals. All ten applications related to minerals permits; four were applications for new minerals exploration permits and six were applications for changes to existing minerals mining permits. No applications related to petroleum permits were received in the period.
