29856 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Energy: How many graduate positions, if any, were there in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, as of 1 June 2025?
Hon Simon Watts: "As Minister of Energy, I have no responsibility for any government departments or Ministries. In respect of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, I refer the Member to the Minister for Economic Growth’s answer to written parliamentary question 29850 (2025). With regard to Crown entities under the energy portfolio, the Electricity Authority has had none since 2021 and please see below the information relating to the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority: 1 December 2021 - 2 1 June 2022 - 0 1 December 2022 - 0 1 June 2023 - 0 1 December 2023 - 0 1 June 2024 - 0 1 December 2024 - 0 1 June 2025 - 2 The above positions relate to EECA’s graduate programme. The Graduate programme is a 18 month fixed-term role, where graduates are rotated across teams. This programme does not run each year. Note, at 1 June 2022, EECA had one graduate policy advisor. This was a permanent full-time role and was not part of EECA’s graduate programme. "
